Washi Crafts by Yuki Chikamura

(Photos Courtesy of Chikamura-san)

Yuki Chikamura has been crafting with Japanese fabrics and paper for over 12 years.

She teaches how to make gift-quality bow-shaped chopstick holders (hashi-oki), pencil holders, coaster heart shaped boxes, crane shaped boxes, and other colorful and useful objects using milk cartons and Japanese washi paper (chiyogami) at her home.

She will have "Otedama" which is Japanese traditional play using beanbags. You can learn how to play and also you can purchase otedama.

She will have other Japanese crafts made from Kimono fabric.

Chikamura-san will display many of her crafts and give workshops from her booth on Saturday, September 6th, and Sunday 7th. You can learn as you make your own book marker at the workshops. You will then be able to make more at home for yourself and others

The workshop cost of $1.00 includes materials necessary to make one book marker.
