Emerald City Judo, Inc. was founded by Robert Wittauer in 1999. There
are around fifty members including the coaching and teaching staff.
Emerald
City Judo has become one of the most successful Dojo's in the Northwest,
claiming many tournament titles, including in four years, a total
of over 18 Washington State Champions, a National Male Gold in 2003,
two Female Silvers in 2003, a Jr. Female Bronze Medal in 2001, a Male
Silver in 2002, and a Male Bronze in 2003. Many of our youths are
ranked point players at the national level.
Nationally certified coaches and referees come together to volunteer
teach the sport of judo to youths, from ages 5 to 17 years of age.
Each student is taught year round at a dojo, and also strives to compete
in local, regional, national, and international judo tournaments with
the hope of not only becoming a national champion, but an Olympiad.
