Mark Loucks has over 24 years of experience in Goju-Ryu Karate-Do
and is presently a fifth degree blackbelt.
He initially started his training under Sensei Teruo Chinen at Gonzaga
University in Spokane, WA. After graduating in 1988, he moved to Tokyo
to train under Sensei Seiro Aragaki at the famous Ryushinkan Dojo,
informally known as the Yoyogi Dojo, where he studied for more than
five years. While in Japan, he competed in international karate tournaments
and placed in both kata (forms) and kumite (sparring).
During his stay in Japan, Mark trained intensely with Sensei Eiichi
Miyazato at the main training facility for Goju-Ryu in Naha, Okinawa.
His Japanese speaking ability enables him to travel regularly to Okinawa
to improve his technique at the Jundokan Dojo in Naha.
Mark, a Seattle native, currently lives on the eastside with his wife
and three children. He has a degree in finance from Gonzaga University,
is a Real Estate Consultant with John L. Scott in Bellevue, and half
