Bonsai workshops are part of the 11th Annual AKI MATSURI. Two (2)
workshops will be offered. The workshop will be limited to the
FIRST FOURTEEN (14) APPLICANTS to pre-register.
Pre-register by e-mail to president@enma.org.
Registration on the morning of the class will be permitted if the
classes are not full.

Cost for the workshops as described below will be
$45.00 per applicant. (payable to the instructor on the
day of the class).

The workshop covers:
- A brief background of the Art of Bonsai
- A discussion of the basic styles of Bonsai
- A practice session in wiring a Bonsai
- Selection of the participant's tree
- Design principles and how they apply to the tree
- Potting the tree in a Bonsai Container
- Instructions for the care and feeding of the Bonsai
All materials, tools, wire, soil, containers and trees are furnished
for the workshop AND YOU GET TO TAKE THE TREE HOME with you..

Mrs. Blanche Bollert
Blanch is a longtime member of PSBA with a solid, prolific 30 years
of experience. Her collection features every popular styling. The
Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection has enjoyed her volunteer work on the
collection trees for 16 years. Blanche is frequently found doing bonsai
demonstrations around the Seattle area and is always a docent during
PSBA's bonsai exhibits.

Mr. Robert Cho proprietor of Asia Pacific Gardening Inc. in Kent.
Mr. Cho is primarily a wholesale dealer, but has retail in Kent on
the East Valley Highway. Mr. Cho teaches bonsai and penjing extensively
around the country as well as overseas. He has several decades teaching
(lecturing and demonstrating) experience. Aki Matsuri students will
enjoy a very informed lecture including: the differences between Chinese
Pensai and Japanese Bonsai, and the philosophy expressed in the art
forms.
