Momotaro and the Island of the Oni

Aki Matsuri volunteers in a partnership with the local guild of the Puppeteers of America bring you 'Momotaro and the Island of the Oni' a Japanese folktale of a boy born from a peach who saves his village from raiding Oni. This glove puppet show will be presented twice a day in the L building. Be sure not to miss it!

Mimibunko

Mimibunko was established in 1996. We have 9 active members, and are divided into 2 groups.

One group is focused on producing puppet shows for small children and visiting local elementary schools to read Japanese books for students learning Japanese. This helps them improve their language skills.

The other group focuses on recording Japanese novels and essays, and making CD/tapes for Japanese seniors in Seattle, who have some reading difficulties.

Our goal is to contribute more to the Japanese community by introducing Japanese literature and arts.
