Traveling in Japan Lecture/Presentation is part of the 11th Annual AKI MATSURI. THE NUMBER OF LECTURE ATTENDEES WILL BE LIMITED by Classroom capacity (~35). Pre-registration is advised and on a first come basis. Pre-register by e-mail to president@enma.org. Registration on the morning of the class will be permitted if the class is not full.

Steve's presentation will cover:

  • Food and drink - kaiseki cuisine, world class sushi on a budget, konbini, izakaya
  • Travel basics - language, security, health, support, communication, holiday periods, weather, etiquette
  • Not to miss - ryokan, onsen, Shibuya, Akihabara, temple illumination


Steve Corless spent 15 years in Japan working in business and as a U.S. Foreign Service officer. Steve is a travel consultant and sales director for The Ryokan Collection, a collection of 35 of Japan's most luxurious ryokan traditional inns.
