The East Asia Resource Center, University of Washington, once again invites you to attend a workshop designed for K~12 teachers that will inspire you to include study about Japanese culture in your classroom.

Included will be ideas for integrating Japan studies into reading, writing, art and social studies core curriculum.

The workshop will be offered in conjunction with the Aki Matsuri (Fall Festival) on the campus of Bellevue Community College, Saturday, September 6, 2008. The instructors will be Mary Hammond-Bernson, Director of the East Asia Resource Center, University of Washington, and classroom teachers and experienced workshop presenters Oralee Kramer and Patricia Burleson.

There is no cost for this workshop and participants will receive three (3) free clock hours. The first 30 teachers who register by August 29, 2008 will also receive free materials and a Japanese (bento) lunch.

Previous participants are invited to join us again this year. The content of this workshop varies each year, and the title for the official clock hour form will indicate that this is not the same workshop you have previously attended.

Please direct questions to: Burleson@rockisland.com. To register, please send (preferably via e-mail) your name, address (home and school) phone number, e-mail address, subject and grade level assignment to:
