Japan welcomes more visitors today than ever before, but many Americans still hesitate to visit Japan because of concerns about high cost, language problems or cultural differences. Steve will explain why there has never been a better time to visit Japan. Whether you are a budget traveler or luxury resort connoisseur, first-time visitor or Japan hand, you will learn some helpful tips for planning your adventure in Japan.

Steve's presentation will cover:

  • Places to visit - Tokyo, Kyoto, Hakone, Kanazawa and more
  • Food and drink - kaiseki cuisine, world class sushi on a budget, konbini, izakaya
  • Travel basics - language, security, health, support, communication, holiday periods, weather, etiquette
  • Update on Tohoku earthquake and tsunami recovery
  • Not to miss - Ryokan, onsen, Shibuya, Akihabara, temple illumination

Lecturer: Mr. Steven M. Corless, Travel Consultant. Steve Corless spent 15 years in Japan working in business and as a U.S. Foreign Service officer.
